State Testing, State Fair, Broadway Spectacular,
 and the Stock Market

The students will be starting the State Testing this week.  We will be testing Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and possibly Friday this week.  We will be testing a few days a week during the following couple of weeks too.

The students have started research for the State Fair. The students will have a lot of class time to do research on their chosen state which they will display on a Tri-fold. We are asking that the students get their own Tri-fold.  They will need to create some type of game that relates to their State and dress up related to their state. (Ex: NY – Statue of Liberty) State Fair is on Thursday,  May 23rd from 8:30 to 9:40 a.m. This is a fun culmination to see.

We have started practicing and try-outs for our Broadway Spectacular which will be on June 12th. All of the students need a black plain shirt, a white plain shirt, a torn/dirty looking shirt, and jeans for the production. For those who get main parts, they may need to get another costume too.  Thank you for your help in getting these items for your child.  We are doing songs from Phantom of the Opera, Les Miserables, Annie, Bye Bye Birdie, Wicked, Oliver, The Greatest Showman, Hamilton, High School Musical, and Grease.  This is another event that you do not want to miss.
The students are learning about the Stock Market.  They each have invested in 3 different companies via the Stock Market and will follow their progress over the next 6 weeks.  Ask your students which stocks they bought with their '$10,000' dollars.

We are very excited about our trip to Astrocamp next week.
We will be leaving next Wednesday, April 10th.
Please come to school all packed.  Don’t forget to bring a sack lunch.
Since the route we usually take to Astrocamp is now closed we need
to take a different route. The trip may possibly take 3 hours  instead
of the usual 2 hour trip. Because of this route change,  we are asking
that all students get to school at 7:30 A.M on Wednesday, April 10th.
(Chaperones, please be here at that time too.) As soon as students get
here, they should drop off their luggage in the front of the school.
They should take their sack lunch and their backpacks with them to
the classroom. They should have all electronics in a clear plastic ziplock
as well as labeled with their first and last name and Circle View.  When
the 7:45 bell rings all of the 5th grade students do NOT go and play
outside.  They  need to report immediately to their classrooms to take
roll and their temperature.  Our goal is to be on the buses and ready to
leave at 8:30 in the morning.  Make sure all luggage, sack lunches, water
bottles, backpacks, and personal belongings are labeled with your child’s
first and last name and Circle View. Thank you making sure your child
is on campus by 7:30.  We are so excited for this fun adventure!
